28 pounds gone for good!

28.4 pounds down to be exact!
Come on 30 pounds.....I'm waiting!  I've been slacking in my walking routine since Rick was gone all last week.  No more excuses....he got home from his business trip last night (YEAH!)  So plans are when he gets home that he, Bekah and I will go for a walk.  I also bought a kettlebell with workout DVD at Walmart yesterday ($18 for both).  I watched it all the way through to see how it worked and then did my first workout today.  WOW!  First off let me say that our Walmart only had ONE kettlebell in the store so I bought it.  Then when I got home and started watching the video I realized that there are 5#ers (for newbies like me), 10#ers for the physically fit (NOT me) and 15#ers for people who want/need a physical challenge.....(again, NOT ME!)  Well, the kettlebell  bought is 10 #'s!  Now you might think, oh no big deal. I'm here to tell you "YES, BIG DEAL!"  Pretty sure I need to look for the 5#er and work my way up to the 10#er.  I'm probably gonna hurt tomorrow!  That's ok though, no pain, no gain!

I had my first PBing or sliming incident today.  For those of you reading who don't know what that is, it's when we banders eat too much or too fast or possibly the wrong food and it gets stuck.  Your mouth starts watering, your chest feels like you are having a heart attack and I couldn't catch my breath.  It lasted about 10 minutes.  Fortunately I was home today (Bekah is feeling a little under the weather) and I was able to get to the bathroom to SLIME in private.  I think I'm done trying to see if bread will go of today, it's a no go!  It's my fault, I know.  I took the first bite of cheesey bread and it went down a little hard.  But I thought, one more bite won't hurt. WRONG!  It was totally stuck!  I won't go into the gorey details but I will just say that I was in pain and I don't want to be experiencing that again anytime soon!

I'm looking for some good bandster friendly recipes if anyone has a specialty they would like to post.   Hope everyone is off to a good start this week!

  1. Hmmm...The kettleball may have to be the next thing I try. Which DVD did you get? I'm sure the 10 pound weight was hard!

I'm going to predict you hit 30 and I hit 25 lost this week. How's that for positive thinking?

  2. I've been hearing so much about kettleballs lately, I really want to see what they are all about! I wish my gym offered a class with them. Tell us about the DVD if you get a chance. I PB'd today too, I think its one of those things we just need to learn how to avoid and what caused it...I know mine was due to me eating too fast. Good luck and keep us posted!

  3. Really well done!! How exciting... 30 is just around the corner and you will be chasing it's furry tail.

  4. kettle ball? I'm pretty sure I've seen them before but have no idea by name. Is it mostly for strength training ? and 10lbs phew ! I'm barely doing the 6 lb weight during class and that hurts !!!
I know I'll read a big ol 30 on here next week !!! Keep it going !!!

  5. Oooh - 30 will be here before you know it! How exciting for you. I heard Kettlebell is a fun workout!

  6. Hey there! I'm doing kettel bells, too. I use a 10 lb weight and oh boy! It's funny how sore I am after, but during the w/o I am fine. Much more intense than regular weights, plus my core is engaged too so my abs ache for 3 days after, minimum.

Good to know I'm not the only kettel bell groupie!

Oh and 30 lbs!!!!! Awesome. Way to go.
